This is a blog written by – you guessed it – a sad old(ish) man. It is intended for any bereaved man, in their 60’s perhaps, like me – too young in the grand scheme of things to be dealing with this.
More specifically I, the author, me, Timo, am now a bereaved man at the age of 63, in 2026, after 16 very very happy years of marriage to my wife – “My Jane” as she has always been to me.
My Jane lost a battle with cancer – also at the age of 63 – and although a terminal diagnosis had been given and we could plan, it didn’t make it any easier to deal with.
I am recording my thoughts as I deal with the things you have to do – more importantly the emotions associated with those things – and the natural progression of grief. Maybe it will help others…and perhaps it will help me too!
Before you think I’m cold and heartless about all this, the blog was started 3+ months after she died, and I retrospectively added the history.
