I have been avoiding looking at any photos of My Jane so far as it was likely to be just too sad.

Today though, I woke up and decided I need a photo of My Jane on display. So I could wave a hello; speak to her; have her look at what I’m doing and opine.

It’s time. Not a shrine thing; just a photo to have close by.

And I knew immediately which one to choose. It was one of her most recent Facebook profile pictures, and I’d also used it for a montage displayed at the funeral.

I printed out, and it now sits in the kitchen — where I spend almost all my waking time.

There is a weird enigmatic quality to it — My Jane can smile or look quizzical depending on how you look at it. Or that’s just in my mind. No matter.

I’m extremely happy today to have her — even if it’s just an image — back in my life.
